With the warm months upon us, many people are turning to cold brew coffee. This is different than Ice Coffee.

Ice Coffee = Coffee brewed with hot water that has been chilled and ice added

Cold Brew = Coffee brewed in cold water over a much longer time, then served over ice. Think Iced Tea.

Rob Hiby, a fellow engineer and racing nut, is our chief cold brew engineer. He spent lots of time doing a DOE to scientifically figure out what of our blends is best for cold brew coffee method .

(DOE) or Design of Experiment, is a systematic method to determine the relationship between factors affecting a process and the output of that process. In other words, it is used to find cause-and-effect relationships.

We used it to figure out what coffee to buy from us if you want the best Cold Brew.

The results were compiled by Rob using his, and fellow engineer, Zach Desocio’s taste testing based on these output criteria. When it comes to Cold Brew, Zach has tasted a good amount of quality cups in the past. He knows his stuff.
